INTERNAL WAITING LIST POLICY:

 

1.   An Internal Waiting List will be, maintained by the Membership Committee consisting of resident households who wish to relocate to another unit.

 

2.   The Internal Waiting List will have priority over the External Waiting List in all cases where such priority does not conflict with Schedule G (CMHC 56.1 Agreement).

 

3.   Member households may apply to the Membership Committee to relocate to any size or type of unit provided that:

 

a)   The household qualifies for the unit requested under the Co-op’s Unit Allocation Policy.

 

b)   The household is not in breach of its Occupancy Agreement with the Co-op.

 

c)   Grounds for refusing a request to relocate include, but are not limited to:

·         arrears (where no repayment agreement has been made with the Co-op);

·         failure to fulfil participation requirements;

·         And failure to maintain the unit in accordance with the Maintenance Policy.

 

 

The Membership Committee may at their discretion refer a request to the Board.

 

4.   If some, but not all, members of an existing household wish to relocate to a separate unit they may do so provided the new household size meets the Co-op’s Unit Allocation Policy.

 

5.   A household may relocate within the Co-op provided that application to relocate has been received in writing by the Membership Committee 60 (sixty) days or more in advance of the move.  (See Schedule A).  The 60 (sixty) day notice requirement may be waived only in cases where:

 

a)   A member resident becomes disabled and requires a modified unit.

 

b)   A household is force to vacate a unit because of damage by fire, or other form of damage, and requests an internal transfer. 

 

6.   Priority for relocation will always be based on date of application to relocate except where:

 

a)   Such priority contravenes Schedule G.

 

b)   Housing charge assistance is not available and a qualifying household needs to move to a less expensive unit.

 

c)   A household size changes such that a household is under housed according to the Unit Allocation/Tenure Policy.

 

d)   A household is forced to vacate a unit because of damage by fire or other form of damage and requests an internal move.

 

e)   A member resident becomes disabled and requires a modified unit.

 

7.   No trading of units directly between members will be allowed.

 

8.   A written internal transfer offer must be accepted in writing within the time specified on the offer.  (See Schedule B).
